Why BYO Key?

Traditional SaaS tools charge a significant markup on LLM calls. With Luna, you have a choice:

• Use Luna's keys: simple, all-inclusive in your subscription
• Use your own keys: direct AI costs, no intermediary markup

Supported providers

Secure configuration

1. Go to Settings > AI Engine

2. Enter your API key for the chosen provider

3. Click "Test & Save"

4. Luna validates the key with a minimal call

5. "Validated" badge confirms everything works

Secure storage

• Keys stored with restricted database access
• Invisible via client API (even to you)
• Only edge functions (service role) can read them
• Prefix displayed for identification (e.g., "sk-ant...7f2x")

Smart priority

When you have an active personal key:

1. Luna first uses YOUR key

2. If it fails, fallback to Luna's system key

3. You're notified if your key encounters errors
